At its prime. Dried cranberries, leaves, tobacco. Medium finish. Unlikely to improve from here on, but one could still cellar for another 2-3 years.

Poured through vinturi and decanted for two hours. Drank with a simple, unsophisticated dinner. The positives -- I love a French wine who doesn't want to punch you in the face the way Americans think wine should be. Beautiful color, good body, short finish, medium texture. The negatives -- little taste. Instead, all you get is dull juice with little flavor. I thought long and hard what is it that I taste in this wine. The only word that comes to mind is rubber, but I think that's unfair to the wine.

5/28/17, 11:22 PM - I gave it an 87 because I drank higher ranked wine that was just as bad (ranking done by cellartracker). I'm hesitant to give it a 70; the wine was not very bad, it was drinkable. I've definitely had much worse wine.
