Deep red. White to the rim. Very fruity nose. Hint of vanilla. Low tannin. Soft. Medium acidity. Black currants? A dash of pepper in the finish? Perhaps slightly cooked?

Paired exceptionally well with veal chateaubriand, pepper sauce and a French salad with lemon dijonaise.

The level of acidity gives it away as probably European, not French. The lack of smoke indicates not German. The relatively high price reveals that it’s from somewhere with high price levels. Luxembourg, I’d never guessed. Pleasant surprise.

Deep red. Faint notes of gunpowder and manure in the nose at first. Prunes. Teak. Garrigue. Well integrated velvety tannin. Lavender. Venison.

It’s still young. Amazing.

It should develop even more tertiary aromas over the next 2-4 years.

6 bottles left. I feel lucky.
