Deep ruby colour. Slightly astringent nose, hints of dried shrubs and herbs, strong anise aroma. Full bodied, thick on the palate; lots of fruit; high acidity, and lots of tannins. Velvety mouthfeel. After 2 hours of decanting, even more overripe red berries and dried cherries and anise, well integrated charred oak notes. Not overly complex, but quite balanced, and a pleasure to drink.

- Medium/Full body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish - Full bodied, elegant, balaned... More on the palate than on the nose. Bold flavours: Olive, earth, dried herbs, preserved cherry and raisin, licorice... Blackcurrant jam. Medium but tame tannins, medium acidity. Long finish. A pleasure to drink.

- It's somewhat balanced with a medium body. Leathery texture with a medium finish - I have not had much Brunello so I can't say if this is typical or how it compares to others of this age, etc... Decanted it for an hour and a half... Assertive nose with anise/menthol/tar... Comparatively mellow on the palate with raspberry and cherry notes, a hint of tobacco/cigarbox... Not too much complexity, but quite balanced. Pronounced but not overbearing tannins, medium finish.

Pale ruby colour with medium intensity nose offering wood and earth notes; (bark, anise, tobacco, smoke)... Light body, high acidity, very light smooth tannins. smoky/roasted notes yield to sour cherry midsection. Pleasant, approachable, but feels a little underripe; unassertive sour fruit leads to medium finish with well-integrated vanilla/oak. Perhaps a bit young? Better in 2013.
