perfect mid-neck fill, long elastic cork, decanted 3 hrs, some coarse sediment, still very youthful vibrant colour with only the slightest brown tinge, lovely lifted, really fine and classy nose, elegant but with great intensity, also wonderful intensity, finesse and class on the palate, smooth and long, quite dry with distinct acid at the finish keeping it clean and fresh, lovely fine wine at its peak, classic aged DdC with a featherlight touch, only 12% abv, wonderful fragrant nose in the near-empty glass, the Volnay lover’s Bordeaux

Slow-oxed for about three hours before the first pour, and this kept improving after that. Effusive aromas of violet, autumn leaves, and blueberries, really beguiling. The palate is elegant and bright, with plenty of extract but lacking the sweet round fruit of warmer vintages. The finish is long and unfolds layers of flavor. This was a superb bottle of a wine that seems be at peak but may yet have some further development in front of it. Really special.

Expressive and interesting on the nose, with flint and seashell and citrus. The palate is medium light and very pure, but the acidity is a bit too high at the moment, and the wine comes across as tart. I don't have a good sense of whether this will find better balance at some point, but I question whether it has the depth to buffer the acidity over time. Very enjoyable with the right food, if you're an acidhead.

Very impressive, as many others have noted. Quite primary and currently more Chenin in character than Clos du Bourg. But the structure and balance are all in place to see this blossom with a little cellar time. A touch of sweetness on the palate should integrate nicely with a few years of age.

Dark gold. Medium+ body. Very sweet on the nose with relatively strong rose & rose water floral notes. High RS permeates through the mid- and finish. Botrytis notes throughout. Has a streak of minerality to counter the sweetness. Great wine!

On opening this showed a dark fruited nose with some oak influence, a surprisingly fleshy palate with a big swath of tannins, with some underlying acidity. Gave it 4 hours of slow ox only to discover it very closed after the air. With a lot of coaxing, the nose gives up some red fruit and floral notes, but they're quite faint. The palate comes across as monolithic and unforgiving. Will this evolve into something with a little more grace? Possibly. The structure and extract is certainly there. But right now it's charmless. Hold for 3-5 before trying again.

Holy crap this is good. This has cherry, blood orange, pomegranate, smoke, and earth. It's ripe with refreshing acidity and some tannins which become pronounced with a few hours of air. My only nit is that the finish does not match the rest of the wine. As the first sentence might suggest, this was much better than I expected given what I remember from my prior bottles, and I certainly liked my prior bottles.
