Bought en primeur. Just opened two bottles. Considering the supposed pedigree here and vintage, very underwhelming. Remember the sales promotion back then was that 2010 was one of greatest vintage ever. Currently disjointed. Don’t bother with this until it decides to get in shape in x years time. I hope the true colors will be revealed.

Could not discern any distinguishing features at all. A little bit of aroma, not particularly complex, finish unremarkable - not bad but definitely not great. Move on to their recent vintages and skip this one. Nice looking bottle though.

Combines elegance, approachability, fruit, aromatics, balance of power. Already drinking well now. Will improve but only a little. Drink now. The prices of this estate since 2012 keep rising. Not sure I would pay the prices asked for recent vintages but I would pay market rate for 2012.

Past it’s peak. It all goes downhill from here. Drink up - no reason to hold it (unless for sentimental reasons). Losing its complexity and power.

5th attempt at hoping this 2005 reveals its promise. Still disappointed. Not seeing why 2005 is rated so highly. Still closed and we’re going into 15 years now! Don’t bother buying this or waiting - move on to something else that’s cheaper and high quality.

Rather surprised by low scores here. I think its worthy of 90+. Even on its own merit without comparing this to other more illustrious right bank names it is easily capable of standing on its own. It does have classic pomerol traits. Its rather tannic and very age worthy. Lovely classic Pomerol nose and intense powerful finish. Now when we compare to other Pomerol names (say for example Le Bon Pasteur, Trotanoy, VCC even) I don't think there is tremendous difference in quality overall for a 2011 vintage - taking away individual estate styles that is. Price-wise this is even better value than the aforementioned I feel.

I didn't want to go against consensus here was really looking forward to this but I dont get the hype this was average didn't open up after 3 hour decant - no real shape nor substance no wow factor yes it's young and Plummy let's see again in what 10 years to see if upward revise score? In the meantime for this price point expected much better there's much more better alternatives than this and much cheaper. Far too much respect shown here.

I waited a few years to finally get my hands on this - and it was worth it. Intense powerful wine barely evolved. Deep purple nearly black in colour, dried herbs, dried berries, lovely and complex aromas, long finish. Tasted another 2005 from Argentina recently - the Catena Zapeta Adrianna 2005 and can see some similarity - particularly the aromas - tough to say which one i prefer both great.

I have tasted just about all of Continuum releases. From an already high standard, the 2012 goes even better. Very perfumed, lovely black fruit, silky smooth but with minerality and crushed rocks with characteristics akin strangely enough to my experience with some of the very finest of Brunello di Montalcino though of course this is a wine which is unmistakably Napa. It will improve but is already superb now.

An excellent example of what the finest Meursault has to offer. This is mineral driven, sweet with lovely aromas of citrus & peach. Its a delight drinkable now for next few years.

I second the view expressed in the note below - its exactly as stated. People I tasted it found it very impressive - this 2004 Dominus is definitely very underrated and im glad I still have a few bottles.

Was skeptical of the high scores this got and high prices but found this attractive upon opening the bottle, it got better in the glass with time. Its as near perfection as one can get - wonderful in just about every possible way your senses can handle. In terms of taste this has among the purest, most wonderful aromas and a crisp, precise finish that leaves you wanting more. Tasted the following day and not as great but still mighty fine.

Deep ruby red in colour, lovely aromas, juicy, succulent fruit forward, wine agree with below this is entering a great period of drinking window now. Not much of a finish but the rest make up for it - a very high quality wine and probably one of the best d'Issan wines of recent time and a great price for this level of quality - acquire!

I bought a few bottles after a famous critic rated this v highly. My third time tasting this and I don't know if its psychological since this is my last bottle but it really blew me away. Decanted half for 2 hours and rest in bottle for comparison and it is a wow wine. It is in perfect drinking zone now. Don't listen to the critics, don't wait, drink this now. It has just turned, its a wine which on the one hand tastes fully mature but the finish is electric combining mature brunello with a stunning long finish. I say consume within next 3 years but don't wait, drink now.

2005 Château Trotanoy Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)

Wine was unimpressive & unresponsive upon opening which being my 3rd tasting of this was surprising. After between 1-2 hours opened and in glass I am pleased to say it shone through. Very deep black and red in colour but this has evolved for sure - lovely plum and cherry with eucalyptus even menthol like aromas give way to very fruit driven and long lasting finish. It is marginally starting its evolution in maturity - plenty of time but life is short and its been 10 years so if you've got a few bottles, opening now wont make you feel guilty after tasting this wonderful wine.

This is drinking in a good place right now. Tasted four times over the last two years its getting better & very focused. It is quite intense as one would expect from Trotanoy, with a still deep ruby red colour, very plummy, fine tannins, good structure, long intense finish. It may improve over next few years but no need to wait to long.

Really looking forward to this one - cork snapped in the middle but after sorting that out I was in for a treat. Pungent initial aromas gave way to really solid wine - deep purple in the middle with brown edge, thick, creamy black fruits, cherries, wood, little spice, mushroom and truffle. Good tannins, good structure, decent finish. A wine for consumption now - even better after a few hours opened - acquire this upon sight and if your bottle is a good one for the relatively decent price - are well worth it.

This wine wont be good in 10 years it should be consumed now or within next 5 years. Its good, not great expected far more for 2000 vintage and clinet though I know they had their highs and lows until mid to late 2000's.

Was skeptical about the quality of this wine after reading various so called wine critic lower scores on this. Glad I tried it because those minority wine critics that rated this wine highly made the right call. Its great and in perfectly enjoyable drinking condition now. Much more so than the 2000 which disappointingly is already showing signs of fading away for such a great vintage, the 2006 is intense, very deep red colour with blue, black, red berries, hint of mocha, hint of chocolate, near perfect harmony between balance of tannin, acidity and lovely finish, quite fruit forward - if available at a good price, grab it.

This was tasted along with 2000 & 2006 clinet recently and 2010 Canon La Gaffeliere stood out - comfortably a wine for cellaring but so darn good now - deep red with ruby rim a bit young with intensity one knows upon experiencing is something special, crushed rocks, faint forest floor, liquorice trust me the pro critics are wrong when they say this is not a 95+ wine.

This is in a very good state for drinking but dare I say it almost young still. The colour is very dark and dense and upon tasting once senses it is developing - in the meantime this is intense, very concentrated, black fruits, slight touch of cocoa and coffee and a delight overall.

Opened from bottle took an hour to settle in the glass upon which the citrus, minerality shone through. Its not a pricey wine and what you get for this price is very worthwhile 1er cru quality white burgundy - recommended.

A very fine example of what the finest of Chassagne Montrachet has to offer. The Maison Leroy is silky, creamy, buttery, with fine mineral streak underlaying it followed by a good mid length finish, very impressive.

In agreement with average scoring for this wine. Opened this tonight and after a rather subdued start it began to reveal lovely aromas after an hour in the glass. Its a real treat with a mixture of berry fruits and a mushroom like undertone with a slight spice / pepper kick to it. Not particularly complex but still a reasonably priced wine from a price to quality perspective and well worth seeking out.
