Double decanted for 2 hrs, dark fruit on both nose & palate (the former better), firm tannins; good, but too young, hold for at least another couple of years

This wine had me puzzled at first. Our local wine group had this double blind as part of out monthly tasting. I brought it, and opened it about 4-5 hours before our tasting. When bringing wine to a blind tasting I always try a sip to make sure it is OK. On this occasion, I felt something was off (no aromatics, flat and lots of alcohol) Actually had my wife check it also. She said it seemed fine. Fast forward to the tasting. I actually brought another bottle of this in case everyone else agreed something was wrong with the first one. We always taste one wine at a time and take notes. We have the server only pour the wines. Double blind is always interesting to say the least. When this wine is poured (me not knowing what it is) I cannot believe what I am smelling and tasting. I am certain it is nothing I brought and tell my friend Gabriel, this must be one of yours and it is AMAZING. This wine is perfect. Nothing is dominating on the palette, but the seamless transitions happening are like nothing I have had before. It is the best wine from Napa I have ever had. SO much power with perfect control. Nothing is out of place. Thank you David and Brad for this. WOTN by far. Please decant for at least 4-5 hours. The difference between when I opened it and 5 hours later is still mind boggling to me. Share this with some people you love, you will not be disappointed.

Our first wine of the holidays trip, decanted for just 30 min and it started singing from the hour mark to the end of the lunch. Chocolate with berries and soft tannins. Coating pleasant mouthfeel. Fair finish and I can definitely do it again!!!

One of the best wines of our last CWG-D All Stars Tasting! Big body, massive tannins and good finish. Lacking complexity which time will fix for sure.

Drink or preferably HOLD...
