There is quite a bit of upside here, but I wasn’t blown away. It hardly seems possible but perhaps I decanted it too long (5 hours at cellar temp). It was a very good but the finish was a little loose and the nose wasn’t as powerful at any pt as I expected it to be. Very good but not exceptional, yet; at least this bottle.

I kept the decanter capped which normally sustains the nose but didn't in this case. The disjointed finish leads me to believe it might just be bottle variation, bc if it was merely an issue of youth it would simply have been a shorter finish, and the tannins were relatively mellow.

2012 Château Clinet Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

After an hour decant, this is definitely in the early drinking window, it will lengthen out and add complexity over tim, with upside to 94. It's good now though, with remarkably pure fruit. I wouldn't necessarily call it modern, but definitely less funk than I typically get from Pomerol.
