Popped and poured. This still works but it’s a little advanced for what I would expect. Light to medium golden, medium bodied. Notes of pear, apple, wet stones, and spice. The wine lacks a bit of focus and energy though. Drink up if you have these although perhaps I had a bottle in early premox.

4/23/22, 10:50 PM - I've had two of these, with two remaining, and exactly the same notes. Not *quite* oxidized...but man, I would not have believed this was a genuine risk for grand cru at ~10 years old!

Like Gweneth Paltrow, looks and feels elegant and structured, but seemingly a little bit vague and hollow. Dry, muted dark fruit, cigar, musty earth. Might have won an academy award, but skinny and shallow.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Current release from 3L. Wonderful expression of Chardonnay, showing lean apple flavors and aromas, followed by some lemon peel. Slightly simple, but very well balanced and fun.

Oak and smokey notes are prominent, but the wine is lighter and crisper than the nose suggests. The fruit does seem to be fading a bit as the oak notes are a bit overpowering. May be time to begin drinking remaining bottles. Purchased for $25 on clearance, which is a steal, but $50 is pushing it for what this bottle delivers.

6/10/17, 11:01 PM - I agree with your notes. Wondering where you snagged this for $25. I got mine, along with four bottles of Frenchman Hills, at VinChicago for $40 and thought I was in good shape off of $55 at the CS tasting room in Washington. $25 truly is a steal.

6/12/17, 7:11 AM - Wish I'd known. I'm not too far away from there.

I gave away my other bottle of Roza, but the Frenchman Hills and Moxie are excellent - all Burgundian qualities, but a kind of fruit presence that set them apart.

Wow. Such a delicious wine. All the notes have people tasting in 2008 and 2010. Try tasting it now in 2015. It is so amazing. I wish I could share it with you all but know if you find one, you will be amazed. So smooth and has a lot of fruit. Well balanced and not high alcohol. This is my style 100%

I double decanted this prior to leaving for the restaurant, where it was served with our entrees roughly four hours after the cork was pulled. Brief notes. Violet, lavender and raspberry aromas; there's an elegance here. Cherry, currant and raspberry along with vanilla and spice accents and a long finish. Dense and concentrated but also elegant and light. Excellent.

12/12/16, 4:48 PM - I know you're in the western 'burbs, like me. What restaurant, if you don't mind my asking?
