Winedinner with friends @Ekenhov (Ekenhov): Old bourgogne, a mythical creature. This particular bottle have survived the onslaugt of time to be consumed by us lucky few.

At first a very subdued nose of wet moss and forest floor, but after a short airing we get overripe strawberries, wet leaves, some charcuteries, leather, light tobacco, black pepper, some dried orange peel etc. The list goes on. Very complex, if not very intense. On the palate the intesity goes up. Very much alive! All the above, but with a lot more life and combined with a great pinot spiciness that lingers in the mouth. Red, ripe berries, medium acidity, very soft tannin. Great balance.

What a great wine. 49 years old and still kicking! Wow! What happened in 1966? And how much the world have changed since. One marvels..
