2012 Morlet Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Cœur de Vallée Oakville
Remarkable wine, though not for everyone...including me. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc from the famous Beckstoffer To Kalon vineyard.

12/2/18, 1:37 PM - This is a lovely wine, though too young and/or too much Cab Franc for my taste. Luc Morlet is a great winemaker, so this could turn out well. Right now I might choose the Paul Hobbs or Shafer for this vintage and vineyard.

Luc Morlet has brought Premier Cru Pessac-Léognan to the new world. This is the best California white wine I’ve tasted. Opened a bottle with friends, and we were all blown away. Dry, complex, honeycomb, a hint of candied bergamot. Huge full body, and totally enjoyable.

4/8/16, 9:00 PM - Thank you. Initially, I hesitated to open this so soon, though greatly enjoyed the result. Tasting the 2013 with the winemaker, he said these are meant to enjoy anytime within the next 15 years. Serving temperature was also notable -- we brought this to a restaurant, and the wine warmed ~5 degrees while consuming (we were savoring)...the complexity provided an evolution of notes/flavors that we all noted and appreciated.
