Bought on release, perfect storage. Decanted and had half a glass 20 min later, put everything back into bottle immediately based on experience. Followed for 3 hrs. This is at peak or at least will not improve... Drink up with minimal decant.

Current opinion on modern style barolos is drink at 10 yrs!

Too good! It just jumps out the decanter from the start, you know it's something special, immediately. One of those wines that both new world leaning and old world snobs (guilty) equally appreciate. In a beautiful spot right now - secondary iron/blood/Tuscan slightly underripe tomato things starting to grab the mic from the dark, dense and pure fruits of youth. Nice balance of both. Still sightly wound up at first sip but started singing an hour or so in and for the next two, then slight possible decline... but if you haven't drank most all of it by then, that's on you! Cheers.

Ive been following this in one for a while now, having a btl every couple years... I feel like it's taken a step back. A bit disjointed, oak coming through... Tasted like a Rioja. Got a bit better with air but still out of balance. Take from that what you will.

Agree with last note, needs a bit of air to find itself. I'd decant 60 min, then there's a 60-90min window before it started falling off. The nose was Margaux and enticing the entire time, the sweet spot was as good on the palate too. Drink up.

*Auction lot with apparently good provenance, but you never know.

Buttery... Unique for PM. Probably drank too young. Not my favourite style but was a hit for most!

Fantastic! For a heavier Brunello in it's youth, tasting quite classic now. 2nd bottle I had in the past year. I'd say at absolute peak though. Fresh and ready to go with a cpl minutes of heavy swirling and getting up to temp, peaking after an hour ish in decanter or glass, but noticeably and oddly starting to fall off after about 2.5. Unless you really like that oxidized/balsamic thing then let it ride!

Will it last another coupe decades... Sure. Should you drink this now? Yes. This is quality wine. Be selfish, follow it over a few hours. It's in that point where it's great from the pop, but keeps changing and rounding out and developing over a couple hours. All stages worth drinking. Classic.

Middling to weak vintage as I just found out... Assumed it would be like Bordeaux 2000. Not the case. Not gonna blow any minds but tasty.. don't pair with red meat like you might normally try to do. Best after an hour to 3 hrs.

Bought from someone who apparently stored in a cellar since release, but I can't vouch. Super impressed for an '03. Has that graves minerality, fantastic nose that was great from start to finish. Fruit has mostly faded but still has lots of power, just how I like it! Drank well from get go, opens up slightly then plateaued over the next few hrs, maybe slight delcine at end which tell me... Peak? I dunno, drink one! It's great!

Underrated vintage. I'd wager at peak now though. Ready to go from the beginning and held up over a few hours. Fragrant af. delicious.

Score reflects the first half glass. Brilliant cherry and dark chocolate, everything else in balance. Decanted off the sediment which was a big mistake. After 20 min the fruit mostly disappeared and the acid and alcohol became more pronounced, and it became thin. Pop and pour, don't decant, share with a cpl friends is my suggestion.

Great! Fully mature. Bit of a funky nose that mostly blew off in 60-90 min in the decanter. Followed for another cpl hours and it didn't fall off. Still some tannins and fruit left. I imagine it'll last another 5 years. Wouldn't say it would improve just change, so depends on your preference for ratio of fruit vs tertiary flavours. I

Delicious. Beautiful golden colour with a bit of shine to it. Juuuust a touch off dry, hint of petrol on the nose is intoxicating. Drinking great but I would imagine could keep as well.

Bit of fruit left on the nose but mostly secondary and tertiary on the palate. Fantastic! Would drink all day, any day.

Tannins fully integrated, so smooth. Stood for 24 hrs, decanted off sediment which wasn't that much but worth doing, and then back into bottle aftsr 30 min. Followed it over a few hrs with duck a l'orange. If I had another I'd do the same. If I had to serve a group, decant off sediment and wait 90in to 2 hrs, boom!

I know all the local critics rate on a 93-100 scale.... But damn. Not for me. If you've drank wine from elsewhere around the world I'm not sure how you submit these scores with a straight face. Fruit is forward. 90ish min decant and drank over another two hr. Structure ok, but so one dimensional with that jammy fruit. Used to be a fan of base bottlings from this house early in my journey, maybe the problem is me.

Better as an academic experience... Dry cool climate gewurz, PEC. Didn't fall in love. I'm being critical, but despite low alcohol, still felt a bit flabby and out of balance to me. House does some other stuff worth checking out but this one is overall... Ehh tonight. Chilled and paired with Indian food.

Last bottle, havent had it in a few years. 2012 was their best vintage by far. This is showing some nice secondary flavours now, throwing a bit of sediment, tannins mostly melted away. Medium bodied. Really impressed with this wine given the price. Punches way above its weight. If I had a few I'd save some as an experiment, otherwise drink up!

My last bottle... I'd drink em up soon if I had more. Tannins nice and resolved now, classic barbaresco. Maybe not quite as complex as I would hope with this age but very enjoyable with some osso buco pasta. Decanted and it was best from 30-90 minutes of air before starting to fall off a bit.

Wow, I am really digging this one! Popped and poured a glass while the rest decanted. Really hitting it's stride right now around 90+ min in! Still some dark fruit left but there's cedar, bell pepper, ane all sorts of Bordeaux goodness! QPR really can't be beat here. I'm going to pick up a bunch more in the morning!

Might be an off bottle, but I think it's starting to shut down. Didn't give much on the nose, barely any fruit and got worse with air. It does feel balanced though and everyone knows the pedigree of this producer (and how good 2013 was in Tuscany) so I'm going to wait a couple years on the next bottle before I pass judgement. Hate when this happens...
