Drinking perfectly now. Rich black cherry and blackberry with vanilla, plums, chocolate, and a little bit of earthiness that smooths out as it open and the tannins loosen a little. Pairs beautifully with red meats and hard cheeses. Consider pairing with a tender cut of beef or lamb served over a creamy polenta with Parmesan cheese.

I have tried this vintage in 2003, 2010, 2013, 2017 (and I have two more bottles left). It has aged beautifully. When it was younger it was a little gripping but it seems to keep mellowing with every passing year. Beautiful dried red fruits, hint of baking spices, and now after 17 years, a delicious earthy finish. Velvet mouth-feel. Medium acid.

Smooth tannins with dried cherries, anise and vanilla. Loved this wine. Took a risk pairing it with a mole sauce and it was excellent.

A little tannic. Hint of banana at first followed by berries.

Cherries, dirt, and spices. Pretty good for the price point. Has a nice finish.

Fantastic Super Tuscan. Benefited from decanting. Dark berries, light oak, and almost a smoky quality. Pairs really well with red meat and peppery greens.

Took about an hour and a half of decanting to open up enough. Still tasted pretty acidic but paired well with a hard cheese.
