A good bottle of this excellent tawny port, bottled in 2008. Dark amber, with a hint of reddish brown. Delicious walnuts and dried fruits on the nose. Dark caramel but surprisingly fruity at the same time on the tongue, interesting for such an old blend. Very full and syrupy with a quite long aftertaste. Wonderful stuff, probably one of the best tawny port I've tasted.

Mostly the same as last time, though it did improve somewhat after decanting for almost two days. This bottle was slightly better than the last time i tried this wine, but not by much. It's still excellent with cheese and has a very good QPR.

Wonderful balance with suprisingly mellow tannins. Lots of ripe plum with dark berries, lovely and smooth on the palate. Can't decide if this or Niepoort 2003/2004 is the better.

Decanted and drunk over 2 days. Showed itself best after 24h in decanter, a bit closed with prominent alcohol right after opening. At first not impressive but improved significantly after a day's decanting. Lovely smells of dried fruits with fig being prominent. Sweet taste with toffee, caramel and a hint of vanilla extract, with a satisfyingly full texture, though a bit on the light side for a 30 year old tawny. Tried it with some blue cheese with great success, as the prominent sweetness of the wine balanced well with the saltiness of the cheese. This isn't the best example of what an old Tawny blend can achieve and perhaps not quite the quality you should expect form a 30 year old. Even so it still better than many younger blends I've tried and since it went so well with the cheese I'm going to give it a little plus for that. 90 pts.

Decanted for four hours. Raspberry, cherry, licorice and a somewhat earthy aroma. Taste was of berries and dark chocolate, refined and smooth but it still has a lot of tannins. Slight finish with a bit disappointing aftertaste. This wine would be best drunk in a few years time, but definitely one of the best younger Spanish wines I've tasted. Wonderful and easily accessible even now!

Decanted for six hours. Showed medium to strong aromas of orange/citrus peel, dried apricots and slightly nutty. Wonderful taste, even tannins and a good long finish. The best white port I've tasted so far, and if it had been slightly more pronounced I would have given it 94 points. Next time I'll experiment with the decanting time to see if it can improve further.

Didn't decant it long enough, it had too much alcohol for my taste. This is the third time I've tried this inexpensive and good wine but it becomes evidently clear that it stills needs to come into it's own (or if it's mature now, then I guess this is it unfortunately).Strong on blackberry and other dark berries, some chocolate and licorice. Smooth and even taste but slight and forgettable finish.

Wonderful Tawny port, by far the best I've tasted. Dried fruits, toffee and chocolate. Not too sweet or too much acid, wonderful balance and a long and impressive finish. I decanted it a few hours before consumption and it really improved in that time. However, I kept a small remainder for a few days in the fridge and I'm afraid it didn't keep well. It developed a far too caramelized and buttery smell and wasn't even close to the fresh Tawny it was when the bottle was opened.

Absolutely wonderful port. Decanted for app. 20 hours, which was perhaps a bit too long. When opened smelled strongly of blueberries and blackberries. Smell was more subtle upon consumption with slight berry and some cherry with floral whifs. Taste was silken and mild, wonderful on the palate and the alcohol was almost perfectly integrated.
