This is falling apart now. Very un-Pinot like in body and structure. Lots of Syrah style nose and remaining balance. Fig. Pipe tobacco. Dates. Post ripe blue berry.
Not horrible but not a good Pinot.
Either a bad bottle (end of cask) or poorly made.

Drink or not to drink. That's is the question. :-)
Really good but not amazing.

Well rounded and wonderful full for a 2003.

Wet, luscious and deep red fruit. Pipe tobacco and richness that I don't normally think of with a Pinot.
Blueberry subtlety, plum, both red crisp and black juicy. Caramel. 70% dark chocolate.
Wetness that lingers. Wonderfully.

Nose: light, greenish, blueberry. More subtle than I would expect for the richness of flavor.

Wonderful.
Juicy with a great acid/tannin balance. Fruit is marvelous.
Red plum. Slight tart, raspberry.
Some pipe tobacco dark sweetness.

This is what I want a Syrah to be.

Juicy, deep plum, dark cherry with blueberry acid undertones. Wet pipe tobacco at first, moving to cigar level (slightly smoky). Raspberry jam. Velvety finish. Sweeter than expected but not it a bad way.
Good structure throughout. Surprisingly well rounded.

Had half the bottle then set it aside (pump sealed). Had it two days later and was just as good. Wife only had it on the last day and loved it.

Ok. Not great.
Good color, nice plum ruby shade of red.
Underdeveloped structure. Wet oak. Sour, minimal tart cranberry ( an unripe greenish).
Fig notes. Subtle caramel/vanilla. But real subtle.

Perhaps if this ages another 5+ years this will come into form. Right now it's not too drinkable.

Light body. Warm, light red in color. Great looking Pinot.

Initial: subtle on the flavor profile. Not much on the nose...slightly green (grassy almost) and sour/tart (raspberry).

Opening: Opened quick. 30 mins or so. Flavor really developing. Definitely raspberry and blueberry, even rich plum...almost a preserve juice flavor. Kale or some sort of lightly rich green (beets?).

This Pinot is rocking. So good. Definitely a drink now as I can't imagine it getting better.

End: One of the better Pinot's I've had in a while. Mmm...good.

Wonderful wine, but needs plenty of time to open. By that I mean, open it...let it sit a few hours....cork it.....drink it the following day. Seriously.

50% Merlot
50% Cab Franc

Tasting notes on first open: Tight, sour and undeveloped. Really makes you question the blend. Tart and smacks of unripe blackberry.

Taste after waiting: Bam, there it is. The pipe tobacco subtleness, with blue plum and blueberry. Flavor profile has fully developed. Wonderful.
Really it's shocking to wait on this wine. Makes me want to age the remaining six I have left.
