A very typical MArgaux, with a "feminine" character built on delicate mature fruit and subtle sweet aromas. Mature red berries, elegant cedar, leather tobacco, tea and some eucalyptus freshness in the background. The typical thinning after the first impression, an effect observed in many 1989s, overshaded by the powerful 1990s. Consider drinking up.

For Steve C's 78 BD at his place. Nice aromas and flavors but jus a little lack lackluster in the vibrancy and acidity, if this bottle is representative it is time to drink up. Not dead tomorrow or anything but I see no upside to further hold. If I can get $500, I'm a seller.
