Deep and dark ruby red color. A little acidic right after the first pour, but this wine softened and opened expressing ripe red fruit, cherries, figs, toast, licorice and mint. Excellent wine that has improved with proper cellaring.

Next up in the forgotten bottles project...2 bottles of this left. Purchased from vintners who I knew from business connections...in my cellar since. Slow oxed for 45 minutes and drank over 2 hours. Had with a Chicken Romano and sauteed pasta w/red pan sauce...good pairing but would add a red meat to this if possible.

Great core garnet color, mild separation at the edges. Nose of dark fruits, camphor, vanilla. Rich and luxurious palate of dark fruits, sweet dark cherry, tobacco...some sweetness on mid palate (excellent)...chocolate on the finish. Plush mouthfeel, Merlot content evident...Calif meets right bank...rich and layered finish.

This wine is in a perfect spot right now, better than the last bottles...to be fair those did not get the air time this needs to really show. They stopped making this several years ago...too bad as this has evolved into a gorgeous wine. Drinking considerably better with some air, really opened up after about 90 minutes. One bottle left...
