Solid Peay. Not a lot there to give confidence of a long aging potential but drinking well now. These Scallop Shelf bottles never fail to give that "close to the sea" harshness (and I mean that in a good way). These are not your typical overripe, rich pinot grapes that get into most California pinots. A great example that shows terroir really is a thing.

2/3/19, 12:39 PM - I need to find a place to buy Peay! Enjoyed a "Flowers" Sonoma Coast Pinot on Friday. Enjoyed it a lot. I definitely prefer Pinots from the CA coast over the CA valleys.

This bottle was basically perfect for me. Tasted like a vintage Burgundy but after only 4 years old. Aroma and flavor profile were fantastic. I loved it, loved it, loved it. Glad I still have another bottle. Only downside is the cost but to get the same experience you would need to spend $200-$300 on a bottle of Grand Cru Burgundy and then let it sit in your cellar for 15-20 years. They knocked this one out of the park!
