Blood, inky red. Bold nose that went from fresh red fruits to eucalyptus and moist earth. This positively exploded on the palate. Raspberries and blackberries with a hint of milk chocolate and some smoky wood. The finish was endless, morphing from plums and currants to red, sweet cherries. The fruit is still fresh and beautiful, and somehow light and delicate. Patience has clearly paid. Reading the prior reviews leads me to only one conclusion -- this wine needed every bit of this age.
