Advanced, seemed like heat damage as it was flat with mostly balsamic notes.

This is the perfect example of rarity affecting price over quality. These wines people go gaga for but I don't think too many people actually enjoy them. It's more of the experience of having a wine made from the last true old guard in Barolo.

Decant if drinking now. Give this air an hour of air to let the oak blow off and allow the beautiful mineral core to come to the fore. New producer for me. Well done!

If you haven't figured it out yet, Sauvignon blanc from Syria in Austria is a game changer for the grape. This bottling is a perfect example of it.

I have a fascination and tend to like the wines from Corsica, a lot. It's been a while for this one at 9 years old but it is drinking beautifully now with room to go!

Really nice, like a hypothetical blend of a Chianti Classico and a Bandol Rouge. Darker with no bricking yet so it's holding up very well for 9 years of age. The nose and palate are very expressive with red and blue fruits, spice, and a nice tension from the acidity that keeps things fresh, while the fruit and spice abound. Slightly more than medium in body, tannin and acidity, the alcohol is med+ on the label but tastes integrated. Nose, palate and finish are med+. All in harmony here and has another 5+ easy.

Greenish cab note from the wet and cool year, good and decent density for the year but definitely on the back end of the curve....drink up and DO NOT decant...stand up for a day to settle and pour off carefully ut be careful with the oxygen!

Primary and youthful fruit on day 1 turned to more classic Rioja with meat and savory complexity on day 2. Open several hours before, decant.
