What a great find in the depths of my cellar - still drinking beautifully, clearly aged with its tobacco, leather and sous bois qualities. Medium minus body, not the longest finish in the world, but I think it a luxury to be able to pull an old cork in the middle of the week of this quality. The qpr allowed me to do so. If you have this, enjoy - no reason to wait. It's on a pleasant late-window plateau right now.

When i drank this young i thought this had the stuffing to age, maybe 10-12 years but i never thought it would show so well at almost 15 years of age. A great cellar defender when it's time for a good bistro wine with some nice evolution. This has held up better than many CNDP from this vintage. got to love it when this happens. Way over achiever. hope my remaining bottles held up as well.

big disappointment following media hype (WS 92). While almost anything in WS needs to be taken with a grain of salt, given their propensity to over-hype plonk (and under-hype great values), this is only marginally better than Columbia Crest's 2012 Grand Estates and that's nothing to be proud of.

The 2012 H3 blend 94% Cabernet, 4% Merlot and 2% Syrah. Even if I had consumed this entire bottle by myself, I doubt that I could have found any cab notes. Ok, the wine is not revolting, but you can do a heck of a lot better with some of the 2012 blends (Gnarly Head). This H3 is a waste of time, calories and money.

12/9/14, 11:19 AM - I am coming up on ten years with cellar tracker #6373 ... and comments like this one are why I check every day to see what folks are saying about the wine in MY cellar. Kudos to the three comments made also. And, I so agree with comments about the blends. I am pretty much "over-the-wall" with those from Washington. Great values. Great pours. Some California ones are wonderful also. My thought is that UC-Davis must be turning out some very bright vintners.
