Very disappointing. Over Oaked, lacking any buttery fat, thin and tart with no lightness or expansion of scents or flavours.

Disappointing that after 5 years still closed, too dry and without roundness and depth expected. Long opening did not improve things.

Dry with flint and Smokey wood depth. Complex and interesting. The best Yvorne I have drunk and an excellent introduction to Swiss whites from this region. Very good value.

Extremely smooth, complex and rich wine which seduced from opening the bottle. For a Cru Bourgeois of this average year a very surprisingly good showing

After 22 years a big surprise at the immediate quality straight from the bottle in terms of complexity of tasting notes and length. Reminded me of rich sweet Margaux with rounded tannin. Extremely pleasant and will seek out more from this Chateau. I have just read since drinking that this 1998 was really an exceptional year and the highest ever price of the Chateau. What a lucky guy. I only have one bottle and a great year.

My second bottle and I noted the evolution of the presentation with time. On first opening I was hit by bitter oranges like a classic high quality English marmalade but rising above a quality honey layer. The length is still too short and it lacks complexity but and fine Sauterne

2001 and matured perfectly. Nose is sweet and heavy with red berry fruits as is the first impression. Sweet heavy hammy classic Napa Cab with not dryness or high notes. Lovely drinking

Drinking a 1999 lower ranking Bordeaux in 2020 was always going to be an adventure but it’s been in my cellar since it’s release. I am happy to report it’s excellent longevity and pleasure still offered. Full rich mouthful of mature jam and black current flavours with a short finish of walnuts. No tannin or dryness.
Decided not to aerate before tasting and this allowed the wine to slowly develop a more interesting nose and length.

Rich, smooth, dark berries nose and matching depth of taste. Long finish. Solid and rounded
