Pale yellow in color. Tropical fruit notes; papaya, guava, toasted coconut on the nose. Candied pineapple, lemon, fresh salinity on the palate. Acid is moderate. Really lovely wine, especially for the spring/summer. 14.2% ABV. $29 from winery (pre-discount).

13% ABV. Creamy pineapple, touch of flint, toast; some spice. Golden color, mid-heavy on the palate. Light finish. Touch of oak, but well balanced. Moderate acidity.

Very good. As the nose opens, some sage, herb. Dark candied cherry, hint of smoke on the palate; superb finish. Amazing QPR.

Less tannic than the Geyserville, but also not quite as aromatic. Ready for drinking now. Cassis, dark fruit, some jam, vanilla. 14.8% ABV.

Even though it’s still very young, this is drinking well now. Licorice, bay leaves, soft tobacco, leather, dark fruits; moderately tannic. Should age well. Really great wine. Fair QPR at $39.99. Decant for at least 30 minutes.

Lilac, earth, cherry on the nose. Acidity on the palate. Rich, silky finish; herbal notes. Rivals some Burgundy wines. Excellent.

Very interesting; definitely to be paired with food. Natural dosage (no added sugar). Beautiful cranberry color. Unique wine.

Despite the reviews of others, this is a great QPR and hard to beat at $8.99. 13.5% ABV, which is lower than most Napa Cabs and higher-alcohol content New World wines. Color is fine; no indication of additives (as can be true of more pricey CA wines, reds and whites.) Dark fruits, vanilla, smoke; smooth on the palate. Great buy.

Medium gold in color. Yeast on the nose; hint of bitterness, but sweetness and yeast on the palate, too. Not detecting any tropical fruit flavors. No oak, but nothing else much there, either. Wouldn't buy again.

Very good. 13.6% ABV. Light golden colored. Toasty brioche, lemon, almond on the nose. Smooth on the palate. Stone fruit; low-medium acidity. Touch of honeysuckle. Reminiscent of Burgundian Chardonnay.

Very different from the 2017. Purchased by accident. Higher alcohol (14%), 99% Grenache, 1% Syrah. Dark purple; heavier. Very tightly wound. More acidic. Lacking the floral notes of the 2017 vintage; spice dominates. Acidic and astringent notes on the palate. Will try again tomorrow. Not the worst wine ever, but would not buy again, even at $15. If you have the option, get the 2017.
Addendum: Day 2. Lost flavor; sour. Dumping bottle.

(Caveat: from a non-Chardonnay drinker.) I really like this wine. No overwhelming oak — like many of the CA Chardonnays — or hit-you-in-the-face butter. Golden in color. Crisp, medium acidity, nice minerality, tropical notes; a bit heavier on the palate and a hint of creaminess. Better with food and better on day 2. 13.5% ABV. $26.99. Will purchase again.
