Red
2006 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend
Wine Spectator newbies; 10/18/2018-10/20/2018 (Marriott Marquis): This was not my favorite of the bordeauxs at first. It came across as a lot thinner. More tannin. Less flavor in the beginning. With time then the cherries and black fruits start to come through. And intensity picks up. Needs a lot more time.

Beautiful and attractive nose of white and yellow flowers, honey and caramel. The Doisy-Daene signature freshness and acidity made the wine very elegant with great balance. Long finish of flowers and fresh apricots. Significantly lighter both in body and sweetness than the 2002, but more ready to drink now. Enjoyable right after opening it.

P.S. metal foil under wax, shall pull the cork hard or cut the foil off first.

What a fantastic wine! Classic Bordeaux! Fabulous bouque with cherry, strawberry, blue berry, a bit of smoke. Smooth mid palate with drak fruits, dates, hint of jam, expresso, racy, tender, and juicy. Long lasting finish. Drink very well now and should be drinking well for next decade.
