WTSO wine. This one is awesome. Use a deep cabernet glass on this

Color. I held the glass up to a white napkin. The color is solid garnet to the edge. Dark rich color. Heavily extracted.

Nose. Cherry and earth and cocoa powder. A touch of kirsch. A little pencil lead too. There's a lot going on in this wine.

Palate. Oh wow. Cherries crusted in cocoa powder. Rich and full bodied. It's extremely well balanced with acidity, fruit, and a bold tannic structure.

If this wine gets better, it will be amazing. But.... why wait. It's so yummy.

WTSO special. This is a good one from them. It's yummy. Very good.

Color. Dark red, with a touch of orange on it.

Nose. Warm cherry pie, kirsch, currant, lanolin, vanilla.

Palate. Rich tannic structure, plums, chocolate, tar.

Good QPR on WTSO at $40. Far from a $165 wine they advertise. It's tight and closed at this stage but has great potential. I drank over 3 days. The 3rd day was great and a predictor of things to come. Dark dense fruit w/hints of chocolate and blackberry, well structured and complex. Long finish on day 3 and less tannin. Need to wait 2-3 more years and should rate higher with more smoothness.

Always one of my favorites. I really like the heavy weight of the nose, the mouth feel, and color of this wine. This vintage is lighter on the nose and creamier on the palate. I wonder if bottle age will send it in the other direction?

Color. Bright yellow with a touch of lime green.

Nose. White flowers, a little caramelized sugar, toasty oak, a touch of pumpkin puree, baked apples, orange Creamsicle, and a little creamed corn.

Palate. Rich toasty oak, balanced cinnamon with baked apples, a little tannin, and perfect acidity.

While the finish is noticeable at the 20 second mark, it's dominated by oak. I am hopeful the sugar will emerge soon and the finish changes.

Decanted for an hour and drank over the next 2. Bold aromas of black and blue fruit, graphite and violets. On the palate, a variety of sweet fruit (black cherry, blackberry, plum and blueberry) with crushed rocks, cedar, licorice and dark chocolate. A great wine, especially for the price. Winemaker Danielle Cyrot is one of my Napa faves!

Decanted 3 hrs. Classical dark fruit - this was delicious and seamless. I need to drink more Ridge wines.

50 points for hitting the bullseye on drinking window. This is so great right now. I'm adding a point to my rating because my loyal drinking companion, a man of taste and class, declared this "one of my 10 favorite wines in memory". Seriously, this is a fully resolved and mature Bordeaux that is crushing its 20 years of life. If you have some, I promise you'll get great return from drinking now. Enjoy!!!

Purchased at an out of the way store for $12 for a split. A bargain! Rich notes of orange peel, lime, whte flowers, tangerine, and honey. Lot's of honey.

Taste is luxurious and lasts a solid minute. Having tried this same village and vineyard combo from 2011 and 1983 and 1976 I can say this wine is in the same league. The wine is loaded with acidity and has the thick viscousity to last for decades.

It's very good. But it's also not great. The fruit is mostly gone. The feel on it is super silky. The acidity is almost gone. I really like the nut in Earth Tones. However the lack of fruit makes it a little bit tough to work with.
