Ripe red fruit, very smooth finish. Elegant and complex too. The tannins are there and they are pleasurable. It is still young and it need a little bit of time, but this is an absolute killer!

Beautiful barbaresco! Paired great with Simmentaler beef and Romescu.
Make sure to open the bottle in the am and decant it for 2-4 hours before pouring the wine back in the bottle. It will be ready to serve in the pm.

Well balanced Barbaresco. Nice tannins, deep red fruit and taste smooth. Great finish earthy finish too.

This wine will age very well the next ten years or so.

San Giusto a Rentennano Chianti Classico is a ‘go get it while you still can’ wine. Stop reading this review and go buy some of this beautiful wine.
I paired this wine with a fennel/salciccia/San Marzano/cannellini dish. Can’t even describe how this combination elevated the wine and food. Just ridiculous.

Decanted this wine for two hours. Served slightly cold at around 15 degrees Celsius. Red ripe fruit on the nose and also a little hint of sour cherries and some herbs. The taste is very smooth with fine fresh tones. Finish is leathery, tobacco and earthy.

And I’ll repeat it again, for the stubborn ones, don’t sleep on this wine. Go buy it and thank me later.
I am a fan for the years to come.

Thanks goes out to Joost en Tamara for telling me first about this ‘organic’ wine!!

Verduno, located in Langhe, is known to be one of the best areas for winemaking. And this Monvigliero is no exception.
Opened this bottle at 9am to have a sip and check the quality. Straight of the bat you can taste the tannins. This wine is young, complex and tangy. It needs time to open up. And boy, did it open up. Poured this wine in the decanter around 3 pm.
Around 7pm this wine tickled all your senses. Nice red wine with orange tinges. Ripe red fruit and characteristic nebbiolo on the nose. The taste was exquisite, intense and elegant. Red fruit tasted at first, velvet tannins around the mouth and an earthy, leathery finish.
This wine was paired with red meat, mushrooms and some Roseval potatoes.
