This bad boy is a fabulous "second tier" Burgundy with a nose redolent of ripe strawberies, dark cherries, spices and some other stuff too complex for me to isolate, but it is unbelievably enticing. On the palate, the wine is smooth as a baby's rear, stimulating acidity and flavors that shimmer and coat the mouth and sustain the experience for over a minute. i absolutely love this wine and wish i had more in my cave. Bravo!

Honestly, i was epecting way more. The nose was elegant but not overstated, but on the palate, the wine seemed unbalanced, with acidity way outpacing the fruit. Maybe i got a bad bottle? i have had much better reservas for half the price.

OMG, call me the outlayer, but this may have been the most exciting CNDP i have ever tasted. From magnum, the wine was deep purple and flamboyant on the nose with all sorts or dark fruits and herbal/spice nuances, roaring from the time the cork was pulled. Smooth as silk and with impeccable balance of acidity to keep it fresh. Complexity to beat all complexities. Bravo!

A previous bottle was really good but i think this one is a bit past its prime, slightly dark straw in color and slightly bitter on the finish. Still a fine Mosel.

beautiful robe, aromas of dark cheries and blueberries and spices. no hint of oak. Great balance, acidity deftly offset by huge fruit elements. the wine apparently unfiltered as some sediment is present.

This wine has grown in depth and richness and is now presumably at its peak, with almost flamboyant bouquet and delicious bouquet, full of complexity and balanced impecably. A majestic Cornas.

another super-winner from Lafage/Eric Solomon. Given its pricepoint, this wine way over-delivers compared to the 100-pt Pegau 2000, full of herbs and spices, ripe plummy Grencache/Syrah fruit with overtones of raspberries and strawberries and outstanding balance. no intrusive oak, so the full, rich flavors soar on the palate!!! A real winner!

tasty cndp, well preserved at 19 years, still youthful, good deep colour, interesting and complex bouuet, full of Provençal spice box nuances, good balance, not too hot, surprising for a premium cuvée. Good even on the third day!

beginning to show some tawniness around the rim. Still a rich bouquet and balanced on the palate but now showing its age as the over-ripe, pruny nuances come through the nose and on the palate. probably merited a higher score a couple years ago. I have another bottle of this and it will either be consumed soon or poured down the drain.

Now silky with expressive bouquet of blackberies and plubds with lavender and licorice. absolutely marvelous rendition of a Grenache-based Rioja Baja. Love Palacios, Spain's greatest winemaker. Unbelievable bargain.

Drinks like a white CNDP, rich and round with complex flavors of the 4 grape varieties in the blend, all perfectly harmonized and balanced of all its elements. Peaking but still with years ahead.

maybe the best Beaujolais i have ever tasted, absolutely on peak and in fine form! this wine displays a richness and depth that expresses an almost Burgundian nuance, rather than of Gamay, and certainly a huge step above any Beaujolais Villages. The nose and palate express a deep profile of strawberry and dark cherries, feramed by spice and earthiness. This bottle shows what a few years can do for a Cru!

not at all oxidized, like i was expecting. the color is light gold or dark straw and the nose is redolent of spicy orange zest, apricots, nuts and peaches. On the palate the wine is mouth-coating and packed with flavor with a touch of bitterness at the finish, which goes on for almost a minute. Good acidity and balance. A wonderful white wine.

Maybe the best white table wine i have ever tasted. A creamy, waxy, viscous gem featuring stone fruits, orange zest and nuances of citrus with spices and persistence on the finish that went on and on. This wine grew as we enjoyed it over 2 hours.

An unbelievable explosion of aromatics redolent of orange marmelade, lemon curd, clove spices and other scents too complex to identify, with a caressing mouthfeel and finish that went on forever. This is a wine to be taken into a dark, quiet room for hours of sniffing, sipping and contemplation and meditation. Otherworldly.

pale yellow Very expressive nose of stone fruits, white flowers, ginger and lemon. Palate is mouth-coating, medium bodied and well-balanced with good acidity. A very good expression of this grape and a fabulous white that will pair with virtually everything. For the price, this is a super find, drinking way above its prive point.

what i look for in an aged Bourgogne is an expressive, very pretty nose and intensity on the palate. This one has both. The nose is dark berries, tinged with locorice and a mouth-coating, silky texture. The color is fading to tawny but the structure is still there, and the balance with good acidity and abundant fruit are outstanding for a village level wine. Glad my cellar has more of these gems. Yum.

this is one of those wines i shall remember for a long time, the bouquet at least. Sweet scents of cassis and dark berries, accented with spices and cedar and a quality i simply cannot describe. The palate presence is smooth and rich, but not overpowering, subtle, elegant and caressing. Absolutely marvelous.

outstanding wine, slightly tending to tawney around the edges but still a boatload of bouquet and flavor. What little fruit it has lost over the 20 years has been compensated by silkiness of the tannins.

Old wine, but very energetic and vibrant. We popped the cork and the wine wal instantly expressive on the nose with very little tawniness on the rim. On the palate it was smooth with perfect balance of fruit and acidity, with plumb, leather and cedar notes. i am very surprised that this wne showed few signs of its age, other than silky tannins.

i had bottles from my collection two times recently and found them consistent. i thought the wine had a pleasant but not flamboyant nose of sour cherries and spices. On the palate, the wine showed high acidity and modest fruit, giving me the impression of being slightly unbalanced, as the acidity tended to overwhelm the fruit.

Dark purple all the way to the rim. Nose is all dark fruit -- blackberries and plums, and a bit of pepper. on the palate, the silky, smooth mouthfeel caresses every sensory nerve, bringing good acidity and rich flavors that take forever to finish. Perfect now but still with years of life left.

Still bright lemon-y color with no oxidation. nose is fresh with apricot, orange, kumquat, persimmon and a wisp of petrol in the background. Soft, slightly off-dry and mouth-coating on the palate with considerable length. A beauty with years more to come.

color dark purple with bricking around the rim, Port-like. The nose is reticent upon opening, will evaluate over the next several hours, but a little raisiny and pruny, as expected. Very smooth with almost no noticeable tannins now, yet it still has structure, probably hoisted by the 15.5% alcohol. Yet the alcohol is not obtrusive and there is no noticeable heat. Acids are low but present and fruit is profound, again very pruny and plummy. Pleasant but not profound, maybe right at its peak but it certainly will not improve.

super-duper Chianti Riserva. Medium-dark cherry color and dark cherry, spice and cedar bouquet. On the palate, the wine shows good acidity and chewy tannins, good structure and remarkable length. This wine has at least 5-8 years of longevity.

Color: light amberish red with only slight tawny coloring beginning to show. Typical dark cherries and strawberries and rose petals with some spice on the nose; on the palate the wine has good salivating adidity, nice, smooth tannins after a decade. Nice, grippy finish. An outstanding village-level Bourgogne. When i pulled the cork, i was worried, as it was very wet and moisture oozed around the sides as i pulled the cork out, but the wine was just fine. Actually, more than fine, really good!

Dark purple; the tech sheet says 100% Tinto Fino (aka Tempranillo) in this vintage, but it is so aromatic and complex that it almost hints of other grapes. Assuming it is a monovarietal, it is one of the most interesting i have ever tasted, with nuances of blackberries, blueberries, damson plums, cinnamon and cedar. it is super-smooth and goes down much too softly and easily!

Color beginning to darken just a tad; the nose shows both the barrel fermentation and the age of the wine, with slightly oxidative bouquet and notes of honey and spice, a touch of orange marmelade. The palate still carries acidity but the mature nose carries over on the palate, almost obliterating the characteristics of a sauvignon blanc. The wine at 8 years stands on its own to like or not, but anyone expecting a classic sauvignon blanc nose or palate would be surprised/shocked!

Agree with prior comments that this is a very special Cornas, now with soft tannins and a silky mouthfeel. Amongst the blue fruits i got a pronounced whiff of bacon on the nose. Well-balanced with all elements seamlessly integrated. Probably has some life ahead, but why wait, it is gorgeous now!

beautiful light golden color, fragrant nose of apricots, tangerine zest, lime zest and a wisp of honey, with a subtle background of rieslingesque minerality (i.e., petrol). on the palate, the wine is round and mouth-filling slightly sweetish but perfectly balanced with tangy acidity. absolutely stunning.

About as good as Syrah gets. Now very smooth, somewhat reticent nose at first, then gradually becoming more exuberant over the next hour with lots of dark fruit notes and some spiciness. Enough acidity to keep it fresh. Probably peaking now.
