The parcels are located at the south entrance of Gevery-Chambertin, on a south-exposed slope. The soli is mainly composed of gravels that get warm easily. Destemmed, brief cold maceration Aged 18 moths in barrel, of which 30% new.
Mid purplish crimson. Quite peppery and spicy over pure and quite dark fruit. Archetypical Gevrey until you taste it, then there's an unexpected juicy red-fruit charter which really lifts this wine. Firm, dry tannins need more time than some village wines in this vintage.

Burgundy expert Clive Coates MW writes that Domaine Jean Chauvenet “produces some of the most stylish, elegant wines in Nuits-Saint-Georges”, an opinion shared by many. Since 1994 the wines have been made by Jean’s son-in-law Christophe Drag, who brings an energy and modern approach to the winemaking, instilled during his years at the Beaune wine school. After a traditional fermentation, this old-vine cuvée was aged in oak barrels to achieve a delicious, smooth and fragrant character. 2019 has received high praise from the critics. James Suckling said, for Burgundy, this vintage has 'hit the bullseye'. It's drinking beautifully now but has the potential to age. Best decanted, then enjoy with pan fried duck, other light game or spiced pilaf.

FromAllots,Petites Charmottes and Aux Sts-Juliens all the north side of the town. Rich imperial purple, sensual and sensuous. A large-boned rugby playing Nuits-St-Georges, but bright and brisk red fruit with good acidities. 88-90 Pts, Jasper Morris. Drink by 2026

Pale lemon, plums and pears, a riper fruit than Terres de Famille. Little lemony touches too, and a future waxiness. Plenty of appeal here. Attractively scented and very long. The Cote de Beaune vineyards situated on the Montage de Beaune above the town itself, are an under-appreciated source for good white wine 88-89 pts Jasper Morris

Racked and sulphured before the harvest. Pale lemon and lime some positive reduction, very ample, some fresh quince notes as well as lemon and lime. Plenty of matter here very lightly toasty , mini- Meursault Impressively long finish 88-90 Pts Jasper Morris

A heavy clay limestone soil lends the wine a weight and heft that should see it age very well but this is a Domain that excels at producing wonderfully drinkable wines and it is in fact the silky side if the sites nature that is the most evident on tasting (SP)

Mineral and zesty Ravaut's Bois Roussot shows a pleasant herbal note alongside a red fruit dominated palate. A real under the radar and thus good value Premier Cru SP (laithweights)

Pretty pink purple. The fruit is classier than the Lambots, and there is much less whole bunch (10%) This has a depth of fresh rasberry and cherry fruit, elegant for Pommard, medium-bodied and with good length. 89-92 ptc Jasper Morris

From three parcels, two in Puligny and one in Meursault, vinified separately the 2019 Bourgogne Pinot Noir was bottles in August. It has a pleasant cranberry and sous-bois-tingled bouquet. The plate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit and a brisk black current finish. 87 pts Neil Martin

Has a very promising bouquet with ebullient ripe red cherries and crushed strawberry. The palate is silky smooth certainly one of the sweetest Givry wines that I tasted yet retains balance and is very seductive if not necessarily long-term. Neil Martin 89 Pnts

Tight on the nose fruit and a long lingering finish. Probably way to early and need a few years in bottle to truly sing
