The cork broke removing it from the bottle. The wine is brick red and while it has a nice nose of berry fruit, at first it is more tannic than fruity.
But after fifteen or twenty minutes, the fruit fleshed out and it is a nice albeit somewhat lean Morey with nice texture and a good finish. The mid palate is the best part of the wine. It might have been better consumed sooner but those tannins would have likely been even more prominent.
I am a half hour into the wine and the fruit is a bit more prominent. Not a great bottle but a good one certainly.

Lovely smokey bacon and black fruit nose. The palate was still a bit tight but it smells just lovely.
I purchased this so late in the sales cycle that I could purchase only half bottles but I don’t think I did badly purchasing the case of 12 half bottles.
Guigal knows something about bottling half bottles so they can keep as well as larger formats. The cork appeared to be practically fresh.
I think this has a long life ahead of it and will continue to approve.

A bit tight at opening and still youthful through the meal, this wine was perhaps a bit less weighty than a comparable Lytton Springs proper bottling but it was nonetheless enjoyable with good raspberry tinged tinged fruit and a nice finish. The last taste gave a great sense of zin essence on the palate leading me to believe there is a good bit of life left in this wine. I wish this weren’t my last bottle!

Given other reviews here, I was a bit skeptical about what I would find in this bottle but was happily surprised: I opened and decanted the magnum about an hour prior to consuming but tasted immediately. What I tasted was a complete wine: well-balanced and enjoyable.
I would say that the wine wasn’t as complex as one might expect from a better vintage. But it was a plush dark fruit Pinot Noir with good balancing acidity and a nice finish. I didn’t feel the wine was old but I don’t think it has many years showing as well as this bottle did.

I have tried this wine twice in the past five years. One bottle was passé, the other was delightful Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.
