Decanted before drinking. The nose started out as almost pure butter. Blackberry on the palate and a cedar finish. Two days later, tastes of kirsch and cola. Did someone say Cherry Coke? Yes, almost, but not in an offensive way.

Very drinkable, if not dazzling. The nose was totally closed right after opening, but opened up after an hour or so. Some cherry in the finish.

Light straw colored, with scents of yeast and cloves. Citrus taste with hints of apriot and lychee. Finsh 30+ seconds, maybe up to a minute. A champagne to savor.

Not much nose; slight petrol. Raw blackberry and pepper taste; short finish.

This bottle did not do well with age. It was reminiscent of port, but without the lingering sweetness. Drinkable, but only marginally enjoyable.

Dark purple color. Licorice and spice box nose. Deep flavor with hints of chocolate and licorice.

Closed at first, then a nose of cassis, cherries, and a hint of tar. Tastes of black cherry and plum. Best at the very end of the meal, so letting air at it before drinking is best.

This bottle had almost no nose and thin flavors of pepper and oak. Not a good example of what Chile can produce..

Nose of orange peel and leather. Moderately integrated tannins with tastes of spice box, blackberry, currants and licorice. A good value for the $12 I paid.

Very little nose. Chalky mouthfeel with tastes of blackberries, some subtle tobacco, and a very mild cherry finish. Underwhelming, even for the price.

Much less in-your-face than one year ago. Deep red, but less ruby than when it was first released. The texture is amazing--it's like eating a steak. I did the Mollydooker shake, but I don't recommend it for the 2005 vintage. The wine has thrown some sediment. A look at mollydooker.com shows that they agree: no shake for wines over 2 years old.
