I generally love Bollinger and the style. Special Cuvée, LGA, RD and the VVF are all amazing champagnes! Especially the Special Cuvée at ~€40 is just amazing QPR.

Crazy I never had the Rosé before but now was the time, and I must say I got a bit disappointed. Overall it just felt a bit... dull?

Nose was a tad soft and shy with red berries; especially sour cherry, raspberry, cranberry and some forest strawberry. Some hints of citrus fruits and a bit of yeasty/bready notes.

Palate wasn't what I would expect compared to the usual Bollinger style. Where was the power? The deepness? The richness?
Quite fresh and a good acidity to it with the same red berries and a big hit of blood orange and the skin as well adding some bitterness. Not much oxidation notes on the palate except some yeast.

It's light with some depth but I'm missing that "oumph" from it. Why not go with a darker and richer style of Rosé to really stay true to the more oxidized, rich and powerful style?

4/1/23, 9:19 AM - I felt the same way... we get some friends together and open up wines usually with a theme. Champagne night and the bollinger rose was "good". Nothing really to write home about. The Grande Annee definitely has that wow factor this rose is missing. I picked up my bottle of Rose from WineAccess for $95 and it doesn't seem worth it.

Nose and flavor are dominated by yeasty notes: brioche, biscuit. Moderate acidity and rather low effervescence.

I kept coming back to overall impressions of heavy, intense, and serious. I enjoyed it but was somewhat underwhelmed. I plan on waiting a few years to revisit.

Smelled like…feet? Tasted fine. Oaky.

12/15/21, 3:38 PM - Seems like a high score for a wine you do not like that smelled like feet...

I'm having a hard time understanding it "tasted fine" and also scoring it a do not like.

White - Sparkling
N.V. M. Brugnon Champagne Brut Sélection Champagne Blend
This is my second bottle of the Wine Access version.

Bright light yellow color. Ok bubbles with fleeting mousse.

A nose of strong marzipan with hints of golden raisins.

Flavors of raw sourdough with high acidity that provokes a long finish.

As the prior poster said, I’d rather have Cava too.

(At this point I don’t know if either or both of my bottles were flawed or if this was the bottle that went on long hot walk, or if it’s just not that good at all. If this was the walked bottle, the other was not good either so it makes little difference to me. Never again.)

Agree with most prior notes. Really good QPR here. Drink in the next 2 years.

11/26/21, 4:09 PM - I usually agree with your TN.. do you think I got a corked bottle? I had a lot of volatile acidity in mine. It didn't smell skunked at all.

11/27/21, 11:30 AM - We popped and poured it and didn't aerate the wine at all before drinking. I was feeling fine. The pinot noir and champagne I had previous to this wine tasted fine, so I think my palate was in a a good place.

Maybe I need a generous decant for this one.

11/27/21, 12:10 PM - Definitely could be true. Perhaps a bit of WineAccess brainwashing too with expectations could be a bit of it. I have another bottle I will try again in 2023 and will revise my review if it shows better.
