I would suggest this has started to enter the next phase, the slow ebbing of the primary fruit characteristic. But still a lot of time before that happens with any fortitude. The fizz has started to lose its attack and is beginning to mellow. The nose is starting to develop a butteriness that wasn’t there a year and a half ago when last I opened.

I won’t open my next bottle for five, maybe ten years. I want to see what this ‘08 will do. I feel that it has only just begun to hint at its potential.

A great bottle of wine from a majestic vintage.

Solid, dependable and balanced. At this price point there is little to find wrong with this. Firm acidity with oak, butter and citrus.
