One could easily do a doubletake on this wine & think it came directly from Chuck Wagner at Caymus. Not SS quality, but certainly at entry level Caymus Cab Sauv. A lush and delectable sweetness sweeps through this wine. Ripe red cherry and skin, blackberry preserve, cassis, cola nut and a cool mineral presence throughout, all perfectly balanced. Round soft tannins. Amazing how the new French oak has integrated so nicely in such a short period of time. Beau Vigne is surely a standout in the $30 Napa Cab price category. Very nice indeed.

11/29/21, 4:48 PM - In response to LiteItOnFire: You are probably correct, and I may have under rated this wine. It probably was a result of having a stellar cab prior to opening this half bottle. The difference in style and not giving this wine a chance to breathe may have resulted in an unfair review. I wish I had more to give it a second chance. Be interested to see your interpretation.

Mild for a Merlot. Quite fragrant and easy on the palate. Lighter finish than the average Merlot. Pairs well with food. Drank with a stir fry meal.

WTSO wine. I have a theory and maybe I am not the only to have this theory. I enjoy sites like WTSO and Last Bottle. But I have noticed that wines offered by WTSO that don’t have a winery website are hit and miss. This is one of those wines. For $20 this wine checks all the boxes. Decent fruits, minimal tannins, easy drinking. This wine is a wine that you take to your friends that don’t know any better and your tell them, “This is a cab from California and its $20.” It does have some classic Alexander Valley flavors, but at every sip you just want more. Decent stuff, but better wine out there for the price. I don’t see it getting any better so I will put the other three bottles ahead in the rotation...

2009 Liquid Sky Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Valley
Liquid sky??? More like liquid gold. Excellent find by wine spies. In an informal blind tasting of 4, this was a favorite. Extraordinary nose and a long delicious finish. Creamy dark chocolate. Loved
BUT fast forward 3 months and this one might have just gone past its prime. Like 2 completely different wines so removing my rating.

10/31/16, 4:46 PM - Just to let you know I got this wine this weekend, Opened one of the bottles without waiting for it to settle. Sadly it has begun to turn, but It was a nicely constructed wine ! It would have been awesome a year ago.

I'm a huge fan of Maroon wines. Their top of the line stuff is excellent. This was a huge disappointing mistake. It was decanted 6+ hours. I just don't understand how you can take grapes from the perfect '13 vintage and make this junk which is reminiscent of rubbing alcohol and a spoon of sugar added to it. Zero structure, no balance whatsoever and no finish at all - simply abysmal! I paid $20 for it - what I waste! Now I have 3 more bottles to give as "presents" to people who know nothing about wine.

Nose: Bright red fruits and vanilla. Palate: Soft styled with surprisingly bright red fruits for a Cab. Decent acid levels but not much complexity and a light finish. OK food wine but even at $20/btl this is not worth the price. Another WTSO wine that is not worth it. Just OK.
