This was so good with pizza! Fruity but not overwhelming. Excellent with chocolate.

I don't know why this should be the case, but the blend on the back label differs from what's listed by some of the other community reviewers, who didn't mention Sangiovese. The list on my label starts with Sangio, and also includes Zin, Merlot, and PS.

Restrained funk and fruit compared to others I've enjoyed, but still a fun bottle.

Wish I'd bought more than one. Strong smell of alcohol at the very start, but it quickly blew off. Fruity, but not bombastically so. Balanced and delicious.

No numerical score for now, maybe I'll return to it later. First impression was of alcohol, so I decanted the rest of the bottle. Meanwhile, there's nice acidity and tannins, the fruit is a little muted at this point. I'm terrible at picking out aromas and tastes, I'm not even gonna try. I'm curious to see how this will be a little later in the evening, and with food.

As other reviewers said, it's toward the lighter end of the Zin spectrum. Nice acidity and not high heat make it a great match for Szechuan takeout. After dinner, the fruit emerged more, still with an unobtrusive level of tannins. Delicious just sipping with no food.

Not impressive when we first opened the ice-cold bottle -- light, not much flavor. Very enjoyable later on.

Smelled of cherry, was a bit thin and acidic, normal Sangio experience. Opened up nicely as the evening went on, and was a great pairing with the specialty of the house.

I smelled cherries when we opened it, it was delicious but feeling a little thin. Developed much lushness over the next couple of hours.

Of the Rieslings I've had at various Thai restaurants, this one was by far the best. Off dry, for sure, but balanced and nuanced. I've certainly been served sweeter, and less interesting Rieslings. Very enjoyable.

Possibly the fault of its storage, seemed a bit past its prime. Still enjoyable, though.

We were going to pick something else, but the waiter suggested this, the least expensive red on the list. Really nice with our pizza. Fruity, with tannins, not too sweet. Would reorder.

Liked but didn't love, wouldn't re-buy. We were looking for deep red bubbles, and did pretty well on that score, but I've had Cavas with more depth to them, and we just didn't love the finish on this one. Nice and dry, definitely lives up to the Brut designation.

Beautiful nose, but disappointing. Sweet, bland, I thought there'd be some spiciness or acidity to add interest, but I found it lacking.

The cork was a mess, but the wine divine. Ripe, lush, mellow tannins.

Much drier and way less funky than other Lambruscos I've had. Once I got over the surprise of that, it was a very enjoyable bottle, light fruit, a bit tart, great with food.

It's fine with pizza, I wouldn't get it again. Though I wouldn't mind being back in Barcelona, where I bought this in a supermarket.

Liking this very much. Sweet but not cloying. A little age on it hasn't hurt it, it's more complex than the younger Rieslings I usually drink. This bottle will disappear quickly, I predict.

Acidic, less so with some air. Ran it through the Vinturi before tasting. Great with Election-night pizza and pasta.

Not sure when/where I got it, or how much I paid. Probably not a lot. I know that keeping it upright in a carton in the living room for several years could not have been good for it, or maybe it was! Cork was fine, no sign of bricking, wasn't cooked at all. Just a middling, pleasant wine, still some fruit (cherries?) left in it, with enough acidity and tannins to make it interesting, even without food. A bit of air improved it. No regrets for having opened it, and definitely not going down the drain. Should be good with our red-sauce-based dinner.

Fair enough with pizza, but wouldn't get again. I guess for under $9, you get what you pay for. Thin, flavors pretty indistinguishable.

When I have a bottle with Szechuan food I give it a little leeway. My tongue was tingling from dinner, but was there a touch of fizz in the wine? It wasn't consistent, so I think it was the meal.

Cherry! Very prominent dark cherry, reminiscent of cough syrup, which for me isn't a negative. Stood up well against our dinner.

Wish I could review en francais like the previous posters, however I quite agree with the first poster's comments. The menu said it was bone dry, I can't agree, but it was reasonably dry, and very aromatic. Spanned well our menu choices, a hummus & olive starter, a salmon in green curry, and a chicken dish with corn and other summer vegetables. I would be happy to pick up a few bottles sometime for my cellar.

Over the years I have come to love red bubblies. This is the first one I ever tasted, probably 10 years ago, just before my interest in wine really took off, so I was very much looking forward to trying it now. On the plus side, it's a beautiful color, and has plenty of nice fruit balanced with tannins, however after initial tastes the sweetness became apparent, especially as the wine warmed. I realized that the red sparklers I've liked the best had a dry finish. So overall, a fun wine, but nothing special.
