December 24, 2021 - From a Magnum bottle. Complex and impressive wine with plenty of intensity. Flavors of candied raspberry mixed with vanilla, tobacco and varnish.
There is plenty of age showing but it is holding up very nicely. It has not moved a lot over the last 5 years and is an impressive wine with a tough Port vintage. But, probably best in a MG bottle.
Over time, the alcohol starts to dominate a bit, but overall a nice and serious wine.

September 28, 2019 - "Mr. & Mrs. White" Anniversary Dinner (Friends' Rooftop, Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong): From a magnum not decanted but with tons of sediment encrusted on the shoulders of the bottle. Very surprisingly light watery rose-gold in colour. Nose is emulsion paint but with higher toned notes of nail varnish remover. Vanilla pods come out with more time in the glass. Palate is powerful, linear, lots of autolytic elements verging towards towards paint stripper and gasoline. Then an astringent element of strawberry candy. With extended time a high alcohol but light cognac wrapped in a Christmas pudding element emerges which is very alluring. Deceptively complex and massively but subtly mountingly reverberant inside the head. Lightness remains the overwhelming impression. Fully mature. WOW!

June 11, 2019 - Symington Vintage 2017 Presentation (NewWerkTheater, Amsterdam, NL): Magnums shipped from Oporto last week. The first one had a dry and cedary style, notes of liquorice, candied fruit, transparent, warmth from the wood, completely classical, gentle tannins, but slightly metallic acidity, good length. Feels slightly tired (90). A second magnum was much better, like fortified claret, harmonious and together, percaline texture, Grande Champagne Cognac finish. A delightful drink (92).

December 1, 2017 - Christmas Party - Wine Club (@ HSH): Very nicely developed and it is drinking perfectly now. Everything is very well integrated and the wine has a great balance.
Amazing wine and it most likely helped that this was from Magnum. It was decanted 2-3 hours in advance and served quite cold! 93-94p
    From MG.

December 25, 2016 - Took a few hours decanting to show more than heat on both nose and mouth feel. Probably just passing its prime now, some interesting notes of dried dates, dried plus, raisins and heat on the nose, medium acidity, some heat, medium sweet dried dark fruit core and medium finish
