  November 17, 2012 - Drank with Sable at Provencal. Fairly light red ruby color. Nose very aromatic, floral with violets. The wine is fairly light bodied, sweet ripe dark fruits, which I found somewhat seductive. Strong notes of pepper were the overriding tastes that hit me at first. This was followed by dark cherries which were pretty straight forward, mixed with a definite earthiness and good acidity. The wine struck me as more youthful than I would have expected, and not a particularly complex one nor one exhibiting its particular terror--which I found to be unfortunate. I'm discovering that Le Moine's style is more of the modern variety, and this wine is a good example of that style. I look forward to tasting this one again in the future to see its development.

  June 11, 2012 - Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Chambolle Musigny (Rodwell House): Bright medium ruby. High-toned, ethereal, nose with cherry and cranberry fruit. However, the palate showed a more muscular wine with black fruit, spice, more fleshy, copious wine (grower/vineyard?). Gutsy, velvety textured and minerally acidity with undergrowth tertiary notes suggesting some age (8-10 years). Weighty, extracted (fruit worked more?). A long finish this wine was less graceful than some and less obviously Chambolle yet eminently drinkable 16/20.

  February 5, 2012 - A bit thin, qand not a ton going on on the nose. With swirling, i get a bit more typical Chambolle-Musigny nose of red fruit, smoke and tar. A nice wine, but nothing special.

  August 6, 2011 - Drinking Wine in a Basement with Pierre Rovani (The Wine Rack): Served blind. The lush fruit of 2002 comes through on the nose with with some nice forestal undertones. The palate was approachable, but still clearly young. Palate was unmistakingly bright and forward with nice tertiary mushroom, floral, and spice components. Thought the spice was more reminiscent of Vosne than Chambolle.
