March 20, 2011 - Wow -- I was prepared for this to be disappointing given the age...it kind of got lost in my wine fridge. But I loved this bottle. Brilliant golden yellow, crystal clear. Nose was a mix of citrus and floral -- a bit reminiscent of a viognier. Crisp on the palate, a light sweetness of honey giving way to an almost lemony finish -- a pleasant tartness, not at all overwhelming, balances the floral notes on the nose. Outstanding with grilled chicken.
April 27, 2007 - Rich golden in appearance. Plenty of oak on the nose - some tropical hints - pineapple, kiwi and some melon. Nicely balanced on the palate - good acidity matched with plenty of ripe fruits mainly of apple with honey and some floral elements. Not much in the way of minerals but overall a very nice white.
April 21, 2007 - Montreal Offline: Italian Anything (Restaurant Apollo BYO): White opener wine: Thanks Dr.C. Not served blind.
Bright clear amberish yellow. Nose of pears, citrus and burnt sugar. Slightly tart burnt sugar on the palate with a sour taste on the mid palate. This also had a slightly bitter finish.
June 29, 2006 - Nice bottle with citrus elements and vanilla, honey and pears. Very good with food.
June 20, 2006 - Barolo Offline: Light-mid gold, lots of fresh honeydew on the nose, concentrated, almost off dry, a little spritzy acidity, heavy with high alcohol, a fat slag of a wine, and not my style, score reflects this.
June 16, 2006 - Barolo Offline, Caldesi, London (Caldesi, London): Simmilar colour to the Schiopetto but richer and more rounded nose. Quite heavy, almost oily in the mouth. Fresh, fully fruity, long. Slightly rosewater scented. Concentrated. 3+ of its type.
November 26, 2005 - Very good nose - almondy and buttery with scents of grapefruit peel. Good character. Very balanced. Fresh and clean, but with real body. Very Good Indeed.
