December 17, 2019 - Courtesy of BlueOval. Peach and stone fruit. Rich texture with terrific length across the palate. Drinking very well at the moment.

October 2, 2019 - Hasn't budged since my last bottle in 2015. Still very, very youthful and fresh, the balance here is outstanding and there's amazing brightness and depth to the fruit but there's still little sense of development.

September 29, 2019 - Wow, this is insanely good. I thought it was fully mature 4-5 years ago, but this bottle is even better as the elements are now perfectly integrated in an utter, silky seamlessness. A very intense glass of wine, spicy fireworks. Super fresh and citrusy despite all the honeyed notes, dry extract, and oily body, with that epic ‘01 finish, so bright and long, sweeping away all the sugar on the attack.

June 22, 2019 - Colour was light gold. Nose was very discreet at first but developed some fragrance and petrol touches on swirl with a cedar note I haven't met before in Mosel. Palate was medium bodied at most, its shape was quite round and its texture suave, sweetness was quite marked, acidity was only moderate and the finish was quite soft. It was not a good pairing for deliciously fresh dorade fish, better with goat cheeses and best on its own after the food was finished, when I began to appreciate its subtlety and elegance. I confess to some disappointment. I was expecting great things especially from 2001 where I have always found delicious acidity, minerality and backbone in the past. Just good.
