June 2, 2023 - Dark fruit profile with blackberries and black cherry. Ripeness balanced by slightly bitter cocoa and fresh aniseed and briary greenness. Plush tannins, velvet smooth and a big mouthfeel, lota of glycerol. Carries the alcohol very well, no hot burn. Seems like an oxymoron for a 16% wine but there's real restraint here. Loved it.

May 28, 2019 - Big wine; needs decanting and meat foil. Fruit bomb with some structure.

October 13, 2017 - Pretty full on but carries the highs alcohol really well. Nice

October 8, 2017 - Awesome for the style, no need to hold much longer - I'd chill slightly but the 16% ABV doesn't come across on the palate at all even at room temperature.

December 7, 2016 - 2016 Athens Wine Event (Paleo Reastaurant, Piraeus): Tasted Blind. Could no place it aside from guessing that this was the product of really heavy handed wine making from new world.
Massive wine, 16% on the label but this is easily close to 17% , licorice, anise notes on the nose, really intense and spicy on the nose. Rich dark fruit, big yet round tannin. Unfortunately it didn't work for us , was far too big and lacked a sense of charm or elegance. 88-89?
