September 22, 2023 - Transparent strawberry red. Strawberries and spice on the nose. Bright on the palate, a bit of heat creeps in (14.5% ABV). Cherries, strawberries, spice. Unfortunately, the alcohol overwhelms the fruit. Fine tannins, sharp acidity, out of balance. Finishes long and hot. Great material but the alcohol overwhelms everything at this point.

February 28, 2022 - Fantastic wine and drinking at peak, I was surprised how well it has held up.

December 23, 2020 - Wow...still holding strong after almost 17 years. Muted fruit of red cherry, strawberry, and red plum. Mostly have given way to the secondary flavors now of red licorice, stewed tomatoes, and baking spice and mushrooms. Slight acidity left and nice finish. Loving it right now.

November 7, 2015 - Opened with steak roast, this showed a very brief funk which morphed into briary mushroom, deep humid oak and spice. Quite enjoyable at present, with a distinct mature fruit note. Changing flavors, still sweet fruit but smooth and secondaries showing, ripe plummy notes, hoisin, blackberry, a little gooseberry. Not showing as overdone or bombastic. Superb at this age.
