November 10, 2021 - 14.3% ABV. 100% cab. I let it breathe for an hour. At first I thought maybe the bottle was not properly stored, as the sweet nose gave way to a bit of funk. But after dinner--and really only after being paired with food--the wine was outstanding. A bit acidic, but the the fruit is concentrated, pure and polished.

July 28, 2018 - First visit to Cafe Matisse (Friends House + Cafe Matisse): This is a textbook example of the big Napa wine. Lots of blackberry and a bit of spiciness and very low on the acid side. This reminds me a touch of jam. Very rich and heavy. It's a style that at times I can appreciate, but I think got a bit overshadowed by the other wines on the table.

December 31, 2017 - Very enjoyable wine. Tannins and fruit are well integrated. To me, this is in its drinking window. Great bouquet and aftertaste .

March 26, 2016 - '08s for the Elite Eight (The Apt): Showing a bit better than the Sloan in a side by side comparison. This had just a touch more going on although it still felt a bit tighter than I would have expected. Wondering if some of these are just heading into more of a sleeping phase and need to wait a bit to open. Very smooth wine, alcohol well integrated, more fruit dominant, but not as fruity as Anderson Conn Valley we poured later.
