Finely balanced, mid-weight. There’s a seriousness here which hides behind the immediate drinkability. Savoury nuances are attractive.

September 8, 2021 - Berry fruits - think more red than black - bit of florals, aniseed, earth. It’s very composed, balanced, almost elegant. Just lacks a bit of interest, length and complexity for a higher score. Very enjoyable, but I’m more and more convinced there are other superior vineyards in the Hunter.

Dark garnet. Dark fruits on the nose this time. Florals, and an earthy note too. The mid-full weighted palate has wonderfully fine, silty tannins which gives the wine a lovely texture. No rush here, but it’s drinking well already.

September 27, 2018 - Still quite dark. Red and dark fruits, smoke, licorice, aniseed. It's medium to full, and packed densely with black fruits, with some spice and integrated oak. The fine tannins, already integrating, carry the wine long. It's a delicious drop, and has ages to go.

September 26, 2018 - SLDS September 2018: Blackberry, black cherry, some earthy spice and roses. Very good tannin structure, giving the youthful fruit a great foil. Would be opening the next bottle in 10+ years.
