Community Tasting Notes 6

July 7, 2023 - More or less perfectly mature at this stage. My previous notes still hold true, although the wine has become much more approachable, and opened up almost immediately. I’d say this is at peak, and will likely cruise here for many years, although slowly declining.

Can’t wait to drink my last bottle!

June 30, 2020 - Another solid showing! It was delicious from the get-go, but truly came around after 4-6 hours. It was like licking a rock straight out of the riverbedz with lemon squeezed all over. It's a very well-made wine, and while it's a little "text book", it's damn good.

    Drink now and through 2028.

November 9, 2019 - Delicious, mature Chablis! This really needs some air to open up. It took 7 hours without decanting for this to shine. I'd probably decant, or open the day before.

Lots of minerals, citrus, lactic notes, and a racing acidity. Still has 10 years in the tank!

February 20, 2017 - Appearance: Bright and clear, it has light lemon color, with watery rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of citrus fruit of lemon and grapefruit, floral notes of acacia, green fruit of green apple, mineral notes of stony, dairy notes of cream. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with high acidity, the wine has medium (-) alcohol, light body and medium intensity flavors of citrus fruit of lemon and grapefruit, green fruit of green apple, floral notes of acacia, mineral notes of stony. The wine has a medium (-) finish.
Conclusion: Good quality Chablis with reasonably intense nose showing decent complexity, the wine has good acidity and highly refreshing, with a lightness making it easy to drink and ethereal, with nice concentration but the length is a bit on the short end. The wine is ready to drink now but can further develop for another 2-3 years.

June 7, 2014 - Grands Jours de Bourgogne 2014 Day 1: Chablis 3-17-13: A freakish noisy Belgian next to me was putting the pourer through the ringer insisting this was "pommadé". Unclear if it's power of suggestion, but I supposed I did find the nose a tiny bit soapy, palate felt acid yet thin a bit? Nose gets to that lager-like place I despise.
