    May 23, 2023 - Brilliant as usual. Drank with friends after a long travel day.

    Vibrant notes of apricot, honey and peaches.

    Decades of pleasure remain.

    If a date, this was a 29 year old MBA grad who takes you away for a relaxing dirty weekend at the cottage.

    May 22, 2023 - Orange blossom and ether on the nose: It's literally ethereal. On the palate, pineapple, orange, mango, apricot, and notes of honey, yellow apple, and coconut, with powerful acidity on the long finish. Although this is outstanding, I was expecting even more; this may be either too old for my taste or too young. I will wait a few years to open the next bottle.

    April 9, 2023 - The best of the 4 Sauternes (all from 375) although maybe not as good as it should have been from a 750. Slightly dark, orange marmalade, apricot, buttery and silky smooth with great intensity. Similar palate to the Climens, but with more complexity and depth. Hippo w/EWG 2001 wines

Viscous and rich on the palate, with a touch less acidity than expected and infinite length. From a half. Drink now to 2130. Almost infinite...

    February 23, 2023 - Exotic nose of pineapple tarts and Christmas cake. A layered and textured palate, ripe pineapples, cooked apples, minerals, great length. Technically excellent, and the best Sauternes in my experience (an extra gear from the 4-5 glasses of 2005 Yquem last week), although does not touch the ethereal plane - which is what I was expecting, given the reputation of the wine in this vintage.
