February 23, 2024 - Purchased at winery in 2018. This was a magnum. Pulled cork 7 hours beforehand. The vintage heat was evident with dried out fruit. Fully resolved tannins with overall nice balance and finish. This is drinking at absolute peak and must be on the decline for 750ml format. Two months ago I had the 2002 in magnum and was blown away by the rich layered fruit that was absent here. This paired well with Italian food with its Barolo’esque profile.

April 26, 2018 - Short decant. Nose of red fruit and spice. Ripe red fruit on the palate. Tannins still present. Small amount of baking spice on the palate. This still has a few years left in it.

March 3, 2018 - Very lovely, and completely evolved. Pure cabernet flavors. Wonder Bread in premium wine land. On the downside, at this stage the wine is lacking other desirable attributes such as terroir, acidity and tannins. Probably past its peak? So ultimately somewhat disappointing.
