September 3, 2021 - Medium gold. Baked apples, olives, honey and almonds. Salty acidity. This bottle was in its prime; no rush to drink others.

October 31, 2018 - This definitely has the oxidate wine thing going on, but I find it more akin to a sous voile Jura wine and disagree that these are shot (at least the bottles I've had).

Rich, nutty and slightly salty. Very nice length - this is truly grand cru terroir.

August 24, 2018 - These are gone. I still have 4. Need to be dumped. Bruised apple, deep gold color with no vibrancy. May have been damaged in shipping. Similar notes in last few years. 2011 is singing right now, in contrast. Had side by side. Bright, wool, quince and straw, mineral notes. Hold 2011 or drink. Dump 2010.

January 7, 2018 - Last bottle, thankfully. Oxidation amped up even more since previous bottle. I like Jura wines and LDH whites and very much appreciate oxidative wines. This bottle was bitter and hot and not very enjoyable at all. If this is textbook aged Savennieres, I am not a fan. My guess though is that my bottles simply did not age well.

October 13, 2017 - Reminds me of two things to be appreciated about Chenin: rarely goes through grumpy phase (enjoyable at all phases of life) and the subtle oxidation that occurs over time makes the wine more enjoyable (for me, at least).

Took an hour to come out of its shell. When it did, it had deep, brassy Chenin flavors. The fruit is still primary, but it's developing some wooliness as well. I don't think this is "Grand Cru" level Savennières, but I can't think of a better wine from the appellation for the money.
