April 9, 2019 - Deep golden hue with brownish tinges. Aromas of honey, almonds, baked apples, and spices. Nice acidity and good length. Quite oxidative at this point. Would consume now. 13% ABV. $30.

July 10, 2016 - I'm not sure why this wine is so maligned. We had this with braised rabbit (lapin a la moutarde, braised in chicken broth, herbs and a cup of this wine). It was a wonderful pairing. Notes of apple, pear, mineral, spice. Very harmonious with the food. It had a touch of funk when I first opened the bottle but that blew off. We had a French-made Burgundy from Auxey-Duresses (Benjamin Leroux) the next day, and it drank similarly, so I think this wine is correct for the region and varietal.

Sue especially loved it and it was the WOTN with the food. (Although not the best wine on the table).

91 points with the rabbit and 89 on its own.

These were $10 on close-out and I am kicking myself for not buying more! We could easily drink a case of this. Oh well. Great QPR. I think it was $40 original retail.

Evening Land no longer makes and imports these French wines, so that is probably the last of these.

August 25, 2014 - Blah. Don't bother , nothing happening here, at any price level.

July 6, 2014 - Too acidic to fight through. My suggestion is let it oxidize (breath for about 6 hours) a bit and then try it.

June 30, 2013 - A Few Meals in Burgundy; 6/30/2013-7/5/2013: Simple but very good balance. apple and some subtle background spice. Moderate length with good energy. good for its price and level.
