February 7, 2021 - this Banfi single vineyard Brunello. In the glass is has a really closed off nose that gives away nothing that is to be found on the palate. once there it's fresh leather, coffee bean, cedar and cinnamon and then even develops some mocha ... this is really tasty stuff and it comes across younger

October 9, 2020 - Enjoyed for husbands 40th birthday over a homemade chicken parm and gnocchi dinner. We purchased at the vineyard Castello Banfi during a winter vacation in 2007. 22 years later we drink and it’s completely exceeding our expectations. The nose has burnt popcorn, this earthy toastiness combined with notes of dark chocolate and leather. Incredibly well balanced and weighted across tannin and acid and fruit. Sour cherry upfront mixed in with those leathery notes on the palate. Long lasting. So special.

November 20, 2017 - Passed its prime. A bit dry. Fruit gone. Some licorice and earth flavours.

December 31, 2013 - Drank on New Years with smoked brisket. Was okay, may have been a problem with cork. Structure of wine was good, though several of us detected a little funk to the nose. Several others thought it was fine. Either way, bottle was finished.

August 23, 2013 - Coravin opening. Seems to be in a good drinking window and likely has a few more years. Lots of bell pepper in this. Finish is well integrated with the rest. Finish reminds me of a Barolo. Notable weakness is touch too much alcohol taste. Best with food.
