  November 14, 2021 - Second Sunday Group: 1990 Burgundies (Neil's): Double blind. Deep ruby color. Cherry and something a bit deeper in the red fruit family, along with pine and forest floor overtones. Mixed red and black pinot fruit on the palate, with sous bois, iron and cigar accents. Complex and deep; powerful, with a long finish and a slight bit of tannin. Adds a spice note with time. Excellent. 92+ pts.

  February 3, 2012 - Oops. I take it all back. Extremely well stored, has turned out to be a beautiful red fruit rich 1990 with plenty of stuffing and a future ahead. The lesson of the 1990's may well be, and it unusual in this regard, if you wait long enough they will come good. My recall is that the Burghound turned against the 1990's. Wish I had bought from him every bottle he thought suspect.

  June 2, 2008 - A perplexing wine. All the elements are there, richness, length, but the fruit quality is very much lacking. Certainly doesn't excite. No room for improvement in my view
