April 27, 2024 - Opened at double-decanted. At this point it tasted aged, a bit rusty but with a healthy dose of tannins. Then transported by car and drunk 3+ hours later out of inadequate glasses. Still much the same character but lacking in charm and sweetness. OK but not glorious - but probably my own fault.

March 27, 2024 - In a great spot now between primary and secondary notes. In my opinion maybe perfect place to drink now. Requires at least 3 hours of decant to open up and was a great match to long roast lamb.

March 26, 2024 - Lovely violet pastille and dark fruit nose, thyme.
Midweight balanced palate with fine dusty tannins and acidity in support.
Gorgeous, floral, elegant perfect food wine.

December 11, 2022 - This seems to be in a "transition" phase. Some mature characteristics on the nose reminding me of something like brown sugar, black tea and tar, almost caramel, along still intense dark fruit. The full bodied palate is still structured with quality tannins that need some more years. Serious, almost austere, classic Barolo. 17.5+/20.

December 21, 2021 - First half, decanted an hour. Zalto burgundy glass. The temperature remained a bit on the low side, 14-16 degrees, I think. Wonderfully fragrant nose, with dust, licorice, red fruits, fir needles, and roses, changing with the temperature. Fairly friendly in the mouth, good tannins requiring food. Quite a pleasure!

Second half, two days later, decanted five hours. Classic medicinal and dark fruit barolo nose. Excellent.
