Community Tasting Notes 9

January 9, 2018 - Black cherry color. Inviting, spicy nose of dried roses, smoke, cedar, and tart cherries. Very focused. On the palate, much the same. Same profile, relatively delicate structure with mild but satiny tannin, cherry fruit, some pleasant bitterness, and a clean but lingering finish of fruit and roses. It’s not a barnburner nor is it complex, but it has elegance and charm, and a high deliciousness factor. And very moreish. Tasty.

July 13, 2014 - A private lunch (Restaurant Perceel *, near Rotterdam): Completely pure and natural style, sweet morello cherries, hint of chocolate, smoky stalkiness, cinnamon, transparent and elegant (12.5%), light weight but good depth, firm tannic grip, good length.

January 29, 2014 - initially blowsy, primary, this quietened down, only; a 'wild' note, characterful, peppery, powerful, fully revved up. Will benefit from a couple of more years.

January 26, 2013 - at this point tannic, acid, hint of sour cherries and not much else.
wait a long time before opening one. NR

November 22, 2012 - Thanksgiving Week Wines; 11/22/2012-11/25/2012 (Edison, NJ): Juicy and tannic...this was a beast. The fruit was souped up with dense raspberry and plum notes all the while being somewhat cool. The palate had a good deal of mineral and spice to it...this was less Burgundian and more Cru Beaujolais.
